CAKE CAKE CAKE

My passion for baking cakes started in high school. I grew up learning how to make traditional Italian cakes and cookies from my Nonna. However, my own creativity began to spark as 16 year old who was amazed by shows such as "The Cake Boss" and "Cupcake Wars".

I started with cupcakes in 2013. Creating simple flavors and perfecting their textures and styles. I began to get more creative as my Nonna bought me a few piping bags and new spatulas better whip up a batch. For my brother's high school graduation, I created a cupcake display of over 12 dozen cupcakes in 6 unique flavors. All were iced fresh the morning of the party with the help of two wonderful friends of mine. I think I amazed both myself and my family with my ability to take on such a task.

When I moved onto college in 2015, I became known around the residence hall for my baking. Although I did't have a kitchen, the residence hall director would let me use the spare kitchen to create a few things to share with my co-residents. Baking was a refreshing break from studying Calculus II and Organic Chemistry. My sophomore year of college, I generously received my very first KitchenAid stand mixer for Christmas. It continues to be one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. Mine is bright red.

My ability to create unique cakes took a new direction in Medical School, where I met the most wonderful group of friends who really make the time to celebrate life and each other. My gift to almost every good friend became a cake in the flavor of their choice. I would provide the decoration based on their personality. This became a SWEET tradition - allowing me to reflect on my friendships and be outrageously creative with designs. I set aside time from my studies to make this happen.

Baking cakes for others fulfill me. It brings joy to others. It helps us to celebrate life.

And that's what I am all about.

Let's celebrate life together with a
